Are you looking for games that help teach music theory to children? I have flashcards that can be used with the popular fishing board game!
Pair these cards with a Fishing game set to make your own musical game:
- Use permanent marker to label each fish with letters A-G
- Decide if your students will practice identifying bass, treble or keyboard notes.
- Lay out the 7 cards of the category your chose. You may chose to place them in order (C-D-E-F-G-A-B) or place them randomly
- Students take turns catching a fish. Check the bottom of the fish for a letter and place it on corresponding note.
-
For a multi-level game, lay out more than one set of cards and students can work at their own level.
This version of the game is very easy to play and is a great way to teach basic theory concepts to children!
There are 22 unique cards total.
You can use these cards separately to quiz students on note and keyboard names.
