Who are we?

Very Piano is run by Megan Desmarais, owner of a bustling piano studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Megan's studio is a one-of-a-kind piano pedagogy training studio where enthusiastic high school, college and post-college students learn the art of teaching piano under Megan's mentorship.

Megan created Very Piano in 2013 as a hub for creative and up-to-date piano pedagogy resources. Soon after, Teach Preschool Music followed as a resource for music teachers wanting to branch out into teaching the youngest learners.

Megan studied piano at the University of Tulsa (B.A., Music) with Anna Norberg and at Wichita State University (M.M., Piano Pedagogy) with Dr. Sylvia Coats and Dr. Andrew Trechak.  She has training in Recreational Music Making early childhood music and development.

Megan is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teacher’s National Association, and is also involved in her local Music Teacher's Association, BAMTA.
